Emergency Light Testing
Currently, in the maintenance engineering industry, there is a need to utilise technology to support engineers with solutions that enable them to spend their time focussing on pressing engineering works, where tech can meet them halfway and carry out routine diagnostics.
This approach allows site teams to use the full benefit of their skilled work force. Predictive maintenance diagnostics allow them to pre-empt failure and plan in their works more efficiently.
An example would be by monitoring the output current and operating temperature of individual drivers. We can build a profile determining the reduction in expected lifecycle operating hours due to a failing component caused by an external factor. This diagnostic field and alarm will be transposed onto the Technik platform where we have the ability to set alarm parameters and warnings on the dashboard to amalgamate and trend alarms.
These alarms will not only be visible on the alarms page, but also be through the use of a wider overview page which makes viewing multiple alerts on a particular section easy for the user. By having the ability to identify failures pre-emptively, you can better plan remedial maintenance works.

In line with your sustainability goals, a benefit of implementing an intelligent lighting diagnostics platform is to increase asset life. Through identifying external factors that are causing premature degradation we can confidently reduce the rate of premature component failure which in turn leads to a reduction in asset replacement and ensuring that new assets aren’t unnecessarily increasing the turnover of embodied carbon in lighting control equipment.
